Freize Part 1: Let them eat cadaver cake

On the train journey to Freize, I had been reading a study on cannibalism and the ‘Raft of Medusa’ (Géricault), so was initially entertained when I saw the ‘Curator Cadaver Cake’ autopsy (think gin-soaked Mary Berry meets ‘Silent Witness’ with added jam). During the autopsy, free slices were offered to the audience as part of the performance and, bizarrely, I discovered that I had an unexpected, and totally unprecedented, reluctance to eat cake.
